Albumin & Albumin Fusion Proteins

PBL's range of Mimetic Blue® products are beaded, agarose based adsorbents designed for the capture and purification of serum albumin and albumin related proteins such as recombinant albumin fusion proteins. They are capable of selectively binding albumin from various sources, including plasma, serum and recombinant cells. This family of ligands has exceptional specificity and yield highly purified protein. Unlike traditional textile dye adsorbents, Mimetic Blue® adsorbents are highly stable, resistant to concentrated sodium hydroxide, exhibit negligible ligand leakage and are capable of maintaining their high performance over a very large number of process cycles, even after prolonged storage in sodium hydroxide. Based on PBL's PuraBead® support matrix, Mimetic Blue® adsorbents have excellent flow properties, near mono-disperse bead size and high capacity for albumin and albumin-related proteins. These products are manufactured in a controlled environment to ISO 9001 quality standard. They are used extensively in regulated large-scale manufacturing processes worldwide.

Additionally, to provide our clients with further quality assurance, a highly sensitive ELISA test kit is available from PBL for detection of Mimetic Blue® and related ligands. The ELISA kit may be used for process validation, and routine product/process monitoring.
