Perfluorosorb® S - Unique synthetic adsorbent for the purification of plasmid DNA

Growing interest in gene therapy and DNA vaccine technologies has created a requirement for high-purity DNA for use in therapeutic applications. In response to this requirement ProMetic BioSciences Ltd has introduced Perfluorosorb® S, a unique, patented product for the purification of plasmid DNA. Perfluorosorb® S has been specifically engineered to adsorb supercoiled DNA preferentially from mixtures of RNA, endotoxin, proteins and other DNA isoforms and therefore provides high purity and high potency DNA for research, development and manufacturing applications.

Perfluorosorb® S is a fluorocarbon based polymeric adsorbent for the purification of plasmid DNA using a reverse-phase chromatographic approach. It's highly porous structure, broad pH resistance and high binding capacity make it ideal for purification of supercoiled pDNA. Uniquely, the exceptional robustness of this adsorbent allows regeneration and depyrogenation with concentrated sodium hydroxide which enables its use for repetitive purification cycles. Perfluorosorb® S is used commercially by producers of high-grade DNA intended for use in therapeutic applications. It is available in slurry and pre-packed column kit formats and may be used for the following applications:

- Primary capture of cc DNA, post-cell lysis and clarification.

- As a polishing agent after ion exchange chromatography to remove endotoxin, genomic DNA, oc and other DNA isoforms, m RNA and protein.
